Abama - where is that?
I am very excited about this new place I have just been told about. The Canary Islands are a great destination for those seeking some wintersun. There are some parts of the islands which have been spoilt by the mass markets - do I sound like a snob? I probably do, but if you, like me, get put off by the Canaries reputation, you are going to love this new resort.
They are calling it Abama - a paradise of sensations. It is set in a spectacluar cliff top location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and surrounded by lush vegetation. Abama has 228 rooms and 72 suites in the Citadel and 120 rooms and suites in exclusive private villas. Each has its own spacious terrace and is equipped with every modern convenience. There is a spectacular par 72 golf course, a club house and golf academy. Add to this the large Wellness & Spa Centre and the excellent and varied cuisine on offer (6 restaurants,9 bars and cafes), you will discover what this paradise is all about.
I love the trees, palm trees and sub tropical plants - over 90,000 of them! There are lakes and waterfalls and pools, there is the beach, a pier, watersports, tennis, fitness club, kids club for over fives, an art gallery and a heliport. This resort is just perfect for a short break. With the airlines offering daily flights to Tenerife and the resort less than half an hour away from the airport - it is an ideal place to go to for a few nights R & R.
